Laydown Lowdown

It's not just the first Tuesday in October, it's the first day of October!  Leaves are falling and days are getting shorter.  This week there are tons of new books to curl up with on these longer nights.

Best-selling author Kate Brian releases "Hereafter," the second installment in her new "Shadowlands," trilogy.  Check back tomorrow for my review.  Lauren DeStefano launches a new series with "Perfect Ruin," Lisi Harrison takes a break from "Monster High," to launch "The Pretenders" series.  Other new releases in Young Adult include "Evanescent," by Andria Buchanan, "How to Love," by Katie Cotugno, and "Alex Rider: Russian Roulette," the final series entry by Anthony Horowitz.

Over in Romance, you'll find the latest in J.R. Ward's "Fallen Angels" series, "Posession.  :Be With Me," by Maya Banks, "Anything but Love," by Beth Ciotta, "A Little Too Far," by Lisa Derochers, and "Live Wire," by Lora Leigh.

Move to Mystery for "The October List," the latest from best-selling author, Jeffery Deaver, "Ghost Gone Wild," by Carolyn G. Hart, "Death, Taxes & Green Tea Ice Cream," by Diane Kelly, "Bad City," by Peter Morris, and  "Almost True Confessions," by Jane O'Connor.

Stop by Science Fiction/Fantasy for "Tempt the Stars," by Karen Chance, "Day One," by Nate Kenyon, and "Red Hill," by Jamie McGuire.

Will any of these books make your "to-read" list?  Share with us!  Remember to support your local bookstores whenever possible.

Finally, we'd like to congratulate Despina R. on winning a copy of "12 Shades of Surrender," in our recent giveaway!  Thank you to all who entered.  Please visit our blog often for more contests and fun.
